Well I didn’t see this coming!!! NEW YORK, NY., April 2, 2009 — Lil Wayne & Cash Money Records Sues Mixtape DJ’s Makin Moves & DJ Drama, Makin Moves Entertainment. Has the Life of a DJ come and gone...50 cent, DMX, Ememe, LIL Wanye have all been feature MC's on Mixtapes. These mixtapes have functions as part of wide promotional distribution to show case the skills of new coming rappers/artist. It helps build a larger fan base by introducing free music in an effort to build a relationship between the consumer and the artist. The video blow talks in some details about the frustration, and while i heavy disagree with their homophobic terms and slurs in expressing there anger towards Wizzy, the tension highlights the unsaid reality of a dying music industry who fears the inevitable. You can't stop people from downloading illegally. To give Cash Money perspective some light, their tensions lies in the mixtape making it to the distribution centers like Walmart and other people making substancial profit from the mixtape. Not sure why but i still have the lingering feeling that, just as Maria Antoinette was unaware of the people's needs, cash money might be out of touch with the everyday consumer whose are facing hard ecomic times. i wonder if people the hiphop community is gonna show any love to his future projects, or that of his artist, like Drake, (Shout out to drizzy, stay on you grind). Will his actions prevent his other artist from climing, and was that his intentional move so that like a chess move, he prevents anyone from killing his king, which for him is his inflated ego thats echos chants of "being the best rapper alive."

At times, the only way to express my feelings is through making music or writing songs. I did a track on my mixtape called "MC All Day and Night" remixing Kid Cudi songs to get out my frustrations with a lot of careless rap songs I hear these days. The track in s mellow track that a little bouncy which has me singing a little on the choirs. What is the point of music if your not free to say what you want? My 2nd verse is more aimed towards my frustration towards some record comapanies not being brave enough to have quality artist in teh lime light. After hearing another bronx native, corey gunz talk about people in the industry having a problem with his music, asking him to dumb it down, i fiigure vent a little, because there no reason why brilliant MC's shouldn't get there well do shine. At the end of the day an artist has to chiose to be secetive what the work they create, if there work is to have substance and meaning, outside of the daily talk of "whats hot right now" which like the Lilly's of the fields which fade away.

AJA-MONET is amazing

"tattoo the walls of my womb with hope" is the myspace tagline of ms AJA-MONET, a uban-Jamaican poet originally from East NY, Brooklyn, residing in Harlem, NY who has spark not only my attention and interest but mostly my respect. She’s a phenomenal spoken word artist who had a dynamic presence when she performs, or should I say SHARES what lines deep within the woumb of spirit, birthing new passions, and reviving old ones like an Emanuele conception multiplied by a divine resurrection. She has a new track called Rosado, which in Spanish translate as pink, a perfected title for a song that features none other than the talented mr. Charles Hamilton.

She state in her blog how “Charles and I go way back to the high school days with late night conversations and debates about Eminem and Nas even before I had my own apartment, when I was living with a then best friend at the time in Harlem, I would’ve been homeless had it not been for her and her wonderful family.” I believe that brilliance incapable of surrounding itself without other intellectually radiant people, and despite the frivolous contentious or diverse views towards Charles Hamilton, I respect his work ethic and his freestyles are reflective of a masterful dominion of linguistics space, time and rhythm, aka he’s a sick MC.

“When god made you he wrote his 1st suicide note, folding into your breath and prayed you’d be the death of him” are the line that demand my attention like someone swing a bat at my face, it hits you before you can stop it from coming…

“I went to church today and left 2 pills of Advil for God at the alter and said a prayer for him that he will not turn to narcotics and lonely night of drinking wine in his room” remind me of Dorothee Soelle’s book “Theology for Skeptics” because it humanizes god divinity. Soelle argues that people celebrate the godness of Jesus at the expense of his humanness to which nothing reasonable is left over (p.88). With regards to AJA-MONET’s You make Holy war live, I contemplate how we too are often leaning on one if not both side of a road of what’s considered profane and sacred, searching our secret wishes but often like the man who throws a penny into a founting making a wish, sometimes the fountains of our ideals throw what we cast towards them, back at us AJA-MONET fascinate that conversation with us in a passionate powerful way. This Mixtape was a project birth out of a really difficult time in my life. After graduating from college, working for the Obama campaign in P.A. and a city council race in NYC I found myself, unemployed and semi-homeless, sleep on my mother’s sofa, hence the title of the mixtape “the recession.” I could focus on not being able to pay my student loans back, or not knowing where my next meal is coming from, or even on how ima afford my next MTA unlimited metro-card but I’m not. Life is too short to dwell on what I don’t have control over. I CAN still make MUSIC, and I CAN still READ and WRITE!!! I’m keep applying to 40 jobs a day online like I have been for the past several months and I’m going to look back at this period in my life and laugh with tears. Sure it’s suck not being able to afford to take my girl out to eat, or even the movies, but it sucked more when my parents told me to find some other place to stay during thanksgiving. This year marks a growing period of my life. Sadly I found out that it doesn’t matter that I have tons of $200-$300 jeans pair of jeans or jewelry or a stupid amount of sneakers if I have no place to call my home. I’m bless none the less, and I move beyond this current difficult time for which our president even held an online town hall meeting. I’m blessed that I’ve encounter people who have inspired me to be transparent about my convictions as well as my weakness; to be unashamed to be me, a kid from the broxn who took 7 years to graduate college because he had to pay for college, a man who received his school’s humanitarianism award upon graduation and intern (and later worked for) a presidential campaign that paid pennies in order to help change his country. I don’t regret what has happen to me because “this too shall pass.” This Mixtape is more than me spiting over some hot beat, it’s me choosing to not let my circumstance define my dreams.

I want to be able to write what I want, sing what’s on my heart teach what is sadly so often ignored, and become someone my grandchildren become proud to call their ajelo. I want my son and daughter to one day look at my contributions to society and become motivate to let that be the norm. I worry sometime if I’m cutting myself short by perusing Hip-hop music, because people’s fears and ignorance manifest themselves when they critique Hip-hop. I love Hip-hop, it my home, I’m an 80’s baby and it so much more than all of the negative images we see. It’s more than just, pimps, cars and hoes, it’s also about the beauty in struggle, survival ingenuity and the pursuit of the impossible. I want to be like Cornel West, Micheal Eric Dyson, Nas, Kanye, and Andree 3000, but with a hint of a Spanish acent. I want to give hopes to young kids who feel like the hood is all they will ever see. I want my childhood poverty and music to be a reminder that one’s beginning doesn’t determines ones ending. I want the conflict I have with my jewelry and faith to encourage other to feel secure enough to admit their insecurities so they too can live free from the boundaries that other attempt to place. I wanna look fly, in my Durun durans! I wanna laugh as much as I sigh, I want to make jokes to force people to think. I wanna be comfortable in being complex…

Blam it on the A.A.A should be name of the remix of this song if i decide to do it. Such a damn catch song by Jamie Foxx and T-pain, i think auto-tune is like crack for our ears, we hear it and fall in love with it, but if you can actually sing than no one would know , which might be kinda wrong to some. To his credit i think Mr Foxx is good singer but for god sakes lil wanye is singing now aday too. I'm not hating, just stating the facts, the rapper- singer seem to me the new motif for the up in coming artist. Drake is a good example, i think tomorrow im post up his mixtape to download. Photo shoot

today i had a photo shoot for my mixtape album cover which also consisted of helping my photographer move a a hevay ass ikea dresser to her appt but i got free dinner out of it!!!
My mixtape should be out my fri and available for free download. im still deciding which method would be best for people to download but i think drop.io visa vi my fan page or through my myspace. Today thank to my friend milissa email, i auditioned at the Newyorican for a possible show on tv call america's top poet, i had to write a spoekn word piece about the color red. Milissa kicked ass and they loved her, i was also high from the excitment of performing again both on stage and on camera. The judges laugh and seem to enjoy my piece, which was as comedic as it was schizophrenic, with me wearing a t-shirt say "i make good babies" and me chanting how i want a "red leather designer baby, who comes out the womb dancing for more then red cooper coins"...i think i should record it soon...
